We are currently seeking an Associate Director - Origination to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated professional with a passion for Real Estate finance and business development to establish their career with the opportunity to learn from experienced Originators within a professional and dynamic work environment at the most innovative industry firm 


  • Actively supports Directors in business development in a way that meets or exceeds established team revenue targets; identifies business sectors with growth potential. As the Associate Director – Origination gains more experience; they will begin sourcing and closing their own transactions
  • Develop financial models to assess debt and equity financing alternatives for client transactions
  • Provide valuable input to equity offerings, valuations, private placements, mergers and acquisitions advisories
  • Perform valuation methodologies, comparative company and discounted cash flow analysis for key clients
  • Demonstrates leadership through client and prospect presentations; follows through with prospects to identify viable financing opportunities for Finneo
  • Research, analyze, present and document drafting elements of a developing transaction
  • Develop client sales presentations
  • Stay up to date on current events in respective industry groups in order to keep Bankers informed about critical issues in the news that are relevant to current and prospective clients
  • Maintain files related to active and prospective deals
  • Travels as needed with other Originators to provide support at the client or prospective investee location
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the team
  • Manages all portfolio management functions on accounts that were personally sourced, including all deal negotiations and structuring; leads the process of investment amendments and analysis for any follow-on rounds of financing

Required Skills, Experience & Qualifications

  • You have completed an undergraduate degree in one of the following concentrations: finance, economics, urban land development, real estate, accounting or business administration
  • 3-5 years’ experience within commercial real estate capital markets and/or lending at a major Financial Institution or commercial mortgage brokerage firm
  • You have credit risk experience or Analyst experience considered a strong asset
  • You have obtained or are pursuing relevant designations, which would be considered a strong asset (CFA, CAIA, FRM)
  • You possess an entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to provide flexible solutions to our clients
  • You have experience in creating and delivering business presentations, including experience with public speaking
  • You have strong communication, influential and negotiation skills
  • You are a motivated self-starter who is very results driven
  • You are a quick learner and have a high level of computer proficiency, including Microsoft Excel
  • You have a passion for commercial real estate
