Matt Desjardins

Matt is a seasoned real estate lending professional with over 13 years of experience underwriting and managing mortgage financing across a number of asset classes including hotel, office, retail, industrial, redevelopment land, multi-family, and mixed-use properties.

Prior to Finneo, Matt worked with a small team at CMLS Financial Ltd. in Vancouver as the exclusive service provider for CMHC's Rental Construction Financing Initiative (RCFi) program for purpose-built multi-family projects, managing over $10 billion in approved & funded loans across Canada, from inception through to construction completion. Prior to this role, Matt worked with CMLS in underwriting & structuring commercial mortgages up to $100 million including conventional construction, term, high-yield & insured loans across various asset classes. Before joining CMLS in 2018, Matt managed a portfolio of $100 million at Canadian Western Bank in Victoria, comprised of construction & term financing of all asset classes. Matt's extensive experience in real estate underwriting and account management enables him to structure, problem solve, and manage risk to secure the most attractive and competitive financing terms available in the market.

Matt holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Royal Roads University in Victoria, and is passionate about working and investing in real estate on the west coast. He loves getting outside to hike, climb, mountain bike and snowboard on Vancouver's North Shore, where he is grateful to call home.
